"Precision. Compassion. Care."
A message to patients & families
Every child deserves thoughtful, individualized care — and my first commitment is always to find the most gentle path forward. Whenever possible, I work to help your child heal without surgery, through careful evaluation and the right non-operative treatment. When surgery is the best option, you can feel confident knowing that your child will receive care grounded in deep surgical training and expertise: I have completed three comprehensive US fellowships in pediatric orthopedic surgery and in spine surgery, equipping me with the skills to handle even the most complex cases with precision and care. I am here to listen, to explain, and to support your family at every step.
Background
Dr. David Segal is a pediatric orthopedic and spine surgeon with formal, fellowship-level training in both pediatric orthopedic surgery and spine surgery — a rare combination that allows him to provide comprehensive, expert care for children and adolescents across a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal and spinal conditions.
His American training reflects an uncommon depth of dedication: he completed three comprehensive fellowships across leading US pediatric centers — a research fellowship and a clinical fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, a clinical fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at UPMC Pittsburgh Children's Hospital, and a spine surgery fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. Completing multiple US fellowships across both subspecialties is a testament to his commitment to achieving the highest standard of surgical skill.
Dr. Segal completed his medical degree and Master of Public Health at Tel-Aviv University, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at Meir Medical Center, affiliated with Tel-Aviv University, where he served as the in-charge of the residency educational curriculum and received the Hospital Director's Outstanding Research Award.
He holds orthopedic surgery specialist certification from the Israeli Medical Board — awarded with distinction — and is ECFMG certified. A member of POSNA (Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery of North America), Dr. Segal is also an active researcher with over 50 peer-reviewed publications and an international conference presenter.
In his rare available time, Dr. Segal is an avid runner, having completed a full marathon and several half-marathons. He also enjoys playing the piano, guitar, and harmonica, and loves to draw.
